With the GPTZero's Canvas integration, every student submission can be scanned for potential AI writing. Results appear directly inside Canvas alongside submissions in SpeedGrader or assignment views. Educators can see document-level scores as well as sentence-level highlights and confidence ratings, all within their normal grading workflow.
GPTZero works across all major AI models, including ChatGPT (GPT-3, GPT-4, GPT-5), Gemini, Claude, LLaMA, and Copilot.
Canvas does not currently include AI detection, but by integrating GPTZero, institutions can provide this capability, and add a layer of AI detection straight into Canvas assignments, without disrupting the grading process.
GPTZero is widely recognized as the most accurate AI detector for education. Benchmarks show over 99% accuracy with one of the lowest false positive rates in the industry. Accuracy is strongest at the document level.
Yes. In addition to AI detection, GPTZero's dashboard includes plagiarism detection, so that educators can combine AI scans with checks against existing text sources for a more holistic picture of student originality.
Our models are de-biased for ESL learners and updated regularly to fairly assess second-language writing. This reduces the risk of unfairly flagging non-native speakers.
Basic scans are available for free, but Canvas integrations are included in GPTZero's institutional and enterprise plans, with simple, scalable pricing.
No AI detector is perfect, and short or highly edited texts are harder to classify. We recommend using GPTZero as a conversation starter as opposed to a final verdict, and to use it as one tool in a broader approach to AI in the classroom.
